I've seen this crayon art on just about every popular website out there, so I thought it was about time I gave it a try. I decided to go with the original rainbow style, but my friend who made one with me went with a blue and white theme.
| Tools: Canvas, Crayons, Glue Gun, Hair Dryer |
Start by laying out the crayons across the top of the canvas in the color scheme you want.
Glue down the crayons one by one. I'm a little OCD and had to make all the "Crayola" labels face up.
Use the hair dryer to melt the tips of the crayons. It took a while for the crayons to start melting and drip.
I'd recommend working in small sections at a time. Once the crayons are warm it's easier to go back and melt them more.
Lay down something under the canvas and wear clothes you don't mind getting wax on. Make sure you cover a large are because the wax flies a lot farther than we thought it would.

Since you control how far down the colors go, you can leave white space for words or drawings.
